Attention: Cumming Art Center Members/Artists
Call to Artists: We have been contacted by Mr. Brian Blasick, Coordinator of the Forsyth County Senior Services, Sexton Hall with a gentle reminder of our up coming November exhibit. We have been invited once again to bring art to display at Sexton Hall. They are looking for 2D & Photography only. Unfortunately, they do not have enclosed cases for 3D art at this time.
They are offering to host an “Art Gallery Showcase” on Saturday, November 4th 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. The Showcase is for the artists to invite friends & family to this special event in order to have them experience the exhibit located in Sexton Hall, 2115 Chloe Road, Cumming, GA 30041. Members need to be prepared to possibly sell some of the pieces and leave a few pieces to be displayed. You may bring prints and extra art the day of the showcase; however, they have limited wall space for the 6 month exhibit.
The number of participants in this show will determine just how many pieces each artist is allowed to bring. There were 18 artists participating back in May of this year. In that light, they had room to hang two pieces from each artist. Drop off of the art will be on Thursday, November 2nd to store paintings on the stage – 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sexton Hall employees will display the pieces in the event room during the showcase, then hang the art around the facility once the showcase is over.
Please contact me at Kaymoney@mindspring.comand let me know if you would like to participate by September 22nd. I will need to let them know how many participants we have. I will then send to you the Waiver they request each participant must sign. The display will remain in place for six (6) months unless a particular piece sells. The selling artist would then take another painting or photograph to put in it’s place. They will sell it for the asking price you put on the pieces and they expect no commissions.
