In January 2025, Denmark High School (DHS) Art Program brought the CAC an opportunity to get involved with Volume 3 of its Interactive Coloring Book Publication, “Healing Through the Arts”. The Project was created by students to give children who are homebound, hospitalized, or in need of art supplies and activities a method to help them heal. CAC/SAA members were invited to participate by providing a photo of their artwork that can be adapted by art students and placed in Volume 3 of the coloring book project. Thanks to the Forsyth Education Foundation Grant, DHS can publish and donate a total of 500 copies of the Volume 1, 2, and 3 coloring books with art supplies. Volume 3 was published in April with a celebratory reception at the School that included CAC members. There were also opportunities to support the project financially through donations or sponsorships. The CAC and individual members made donations from the School’s Amazon art donation registry.
We were especially moved to see how the students of Denmark High School curated and assembled the coloring books with such professionalism, compassion, and purpose. The “Healing for the Arts” project exemplifies what community-driven art can achieve-it provides hope, encourages mindfulness, and nurtures resilience. We are proud to support the next generation of artists and grateful for the opportunity to share our work in a way that touches lives far beyond gallery walls. Volume 3 stands as a beautiful testament to what can be accomplished when education, community, and creativity come together.
