Calendar Schedule of Events for 2023
JANUARY
Exhibit # 1 Love is in the Air; Early Spring Flowers; Birds Courting and Nest Building, and Remember that Valentines’ Day, Mardi Gras, and Black History Month are all happening in this first exhibit of 2023.so get creative and find a piece of your work that meets any of those ideas if you do not have time to create a new piece, or if you don’t have anything that is in the suggested category, bring whatever you would like to exhibit.

This exhibit will also feature in the upstairs galleries, the artwork of participating Forsyth County Elementary and Middle School students’ artwork

May brings the Mother’s Day TEAS
TEA at the Brannon Heard House 111 Pilgrim Mill Road, Cumming, GA
$25 per person; Reservations required; call 678 634 9240
Teas are 2 pm – 5 pm on the following dates
Saturday May 13th 2 PM – 5 PM
Mother’s Day afternoon: May 14th 2 PM – 5 PM
Sunday May 21st 2 PM – 5 PM
The teas will also offer some entertainment and special exhibits in addition to all the lovely artwork on display an for sale in Exhibit # 2
May 31st Summer in the City On Line Registration Opens
This is the annual Community and Members Art Show; all non-members works are juried for this show.
JUNE
JUNE features the always popular Members and Community Art Show; this year SUMMER IN THE CITY (Exhibit # 3 for members); juried show with awards and reception.

JULY
July continues to feature The Cumming Arts Center’s Exhibit # 3 the Community and Members Summer in the City
AUGUST
Reception and Awards presentation 2 PM – 4 PM August 26th Summer in the City Community and Members Art Show.
Non Member Artists may pick up their artwork at the conclusion of the reception between 4 pm and 5 pm. Members should plan to pick up their artwork the following day when they drop off their artwork for AWOA.
August will be the drop off for artwork that will be a part of the second annual A World of Art, Bunny Salter Chairman, taking place in Sept.
Artwork should feature a theme Oh, the places we have been and the places we dream of going

Exhibit # 4 A World of Art Exhibit Opens to the public on August 30th – October 20th
SEPTEMBER
Saturday, September 9th 10 AM – 4 PM A World of Art (the one day event) features the diverse cultures which make up Forsyth County today.

Vendors’ tents feature arts of the different cultures; food trucks are for enjoying ethnic foods, fun, games and sidewalk art for children, Passports are available for purchase ($3 each) and get your passport stamped at all of the different tents that you visit for each country represented, while learning a little about each country. A fun day at the Cumming Arts Center as well as on the grassy area around the City Parking Deck across from the arts center. Street will be closed for the convenience of the visitors.
Cultural dances, musicians, and food trucks represent the diversity of Forsyth County.
This is a fun filled educational day for the entire family at the Cumming Arts Center.
OCTOBER
Exhibit # 5 Brings back a Photography Show, The Sights and Sounds of Forsyth County & Beyond at the Cumming Arts Center. Photography Show dates will be October 25th thru Dec 2nd.
The Photography Show is open to members and non members of the Community.
Photography Show Drop Off: October 22nd 1 PM – 4 PM
Photography Show Drop Off: October 23rd 11AM – 4 PM
Reception & Awards Sunday, December 3rd 2 PM – 4 PM
This show will be professionally judged, and awards will be presented.

NOVEMBER
November 11th & 12th The 20th Annual Christmas Festival at Lanier Tech, with Alison Sims as the new Chair for CFLT. Start planning now to volunteer for this major event. As the retiring Chair Kris Straukas always told us: It takes a village to run CFLT which also features the very popular Elf Corner and the Festival of Trees.
