Silk Painting with Wax Resist & Batik Workshop
Instructor: Leslie Rodgers Todder
This is a one-day workshop from 10am to 4pm. Participants will work on a 22-inch silk square pre-hemmed scarf stretched out and suspended on a frame. People may bring their own simple black and white line drawings that may be used for reference or simple black and white “coloring book” images available as templates to trace in class. There will be a resist barrier drawn with water based gutta or soy wax to control the flow of dyes. The dyes are professional silk dyes that will be steam set by the instructor and returned back to the art center for pick up.
