Exhibition #6 Windchill – Season Finale – Invitational

Show dates: Wednesday, December 4th 2024 – Saturday, January 11th, 2024

                                                 

     

Theme:

 

The theme for the Season Finale is Windchill – Bring in any Weatherly, Chilly Scene or perhaps something that makes you feel warm to keep you away from the cold is the ticket.  Bring in some of your best work.

As President, I would like to personally Thank you, for all that you do and have done this year for the Arts Center.  Your willingness to participate in either assisting in the gallery during the week, participating in one or more of our events or serving on the Board is much appreciated and we cannot do it without you.  As in previous years, we would like to celebrate you by giving you free entry into the last exhibit of the year.

Again, thank you all for being generous with your time and skills this year.

We will also fill the Art Center once again with Small Works for Sale in the Small Gallery with our Christmas Marketplace and Festival of Trees by our members only.

 

Submissions open online – Monday, November 18th  

 

ARTIST ELIGIBILITY: This Exhibition is open to Members Only that have volunteered 12 hrs or more in 2024

Entry fee  – Members with a minimum of 12 qualifying volunteer hours are free and can submit up to three (3) pieces of artwork

 

IMPORTANT EXHIBITION DATES: 

Entry Deadline: November  29th – 11:59PM

 

Sunday, December 1st 12pm – 4pm Drop off new artwork / Pickup from previous exhibit.

Monday, December 2nd 11am – 1pm Drop off new artwork / Pickup from previous exhibit.

Tuesday, December 3rd 11am – 3pm – Hanging of Art

 

Removal: Sunday, January 12th, 2025  1 pm – 4 pm


WORK ELIGIBILITY: ● Entries must be original, Photography, 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional fine art ● Photos of your artwork must be less than 2MB to upload. ● Entrants may submit up to three (3) entries. ● There is no age limit on when works were created. ● No sawtooth hangers will be accepted. All thin canvases must be framed and include hanging wires. All gallery wrapped canvases 1-1/2″-2″ must have painted and finished edges ● All 1/2″ canvases must be framed ● Accepted works need to include identification on the back, stating: Title, Artist’s Name, Medium, Size, Email Address, Cell Phone number, and Price, if for sale. ● Works submitted to any exhibit at The Cumming Arts Center should be displayed for the duration of the show – if your artwork requires early removal then a substitute must be supplied. ● In the event of a sale, The Cumming Arts Center will receive 25% commission. Please price your artwork accordingly.  ● By submitting your artworks, you have agreed on letting the CAC use images of your work(s) for promotional purposes only in all our social media channels and venues. ● By your submission of work(s) you agree to the Waiver and Release of Liability of Art.

Waiver
The parties known as the Sawnee Association of the Arts, hereafter referred to as SAA, dba Cumming Arts Center, hereafter referred to as CAC, acknowledges that the artist whose name appears in the online submission has furnished the SAA/CAC with the items described within the online submission. THE ARTIST’S ACCEPTANCE ALSO SERVES TO DECLARE THAT ARTWORKS ARE original pieces of art produced by the artist.
As with all exposure to the public there is risk of theft and damage to artist’s merchandise. SAA dba CAC and the CITY OF CUMMING assume no responsibility for loss or damage to merchandise/ARTWORK offered for public viewing. The artist is encouraged to obtain insurance on his/her own. Artists assume all risk of loss, theft, or damage for all items offered for sale or for display during any event on site at the Cumming Arts Center.
If you participate in outside shows, please do not remove gift items from the Cumming Arts Center to take to your shows. If you removed pieces for outside shows, please hang or place an equivalent piece in its place or place a sold sign.
If you are exhibiting in the gallery or gift shop, it is encouraged that you volunteer to help keep the Cumming Arts Center open. Volunteering for two 4-hour shifts during the exhibition timeframe is suggested. This gives our artists the opportunity to get inspired, meet other members, greet visitors and become more familiar with the organization. This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia and it shall be the responsibility of CAC to collect and pay to the state of GA any sales taxes that are due. Sawnee Association of the Arts/dba/Cumming Arts Center. It is organized as a 501 c 3 and cannot act solely as a retail business. Sales and sale of all artwork offered for sale in the gallery, since all sales are processed through the Gift Shop. Beginning January 1st, 2024, a 25% commission fee will be charged for each item sold; this includes all artwork and Gift Shop items.
Any artwork not picked up after 2 months from an exhibit will become the property of SAA / CAC, so please be respectful and pick up promptly.
Any items placed in the gift shop, can remain for 4 months, after which the Art Center will contact you to pick up or change out.
