Kris was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs and moved to Forsyth County in 2006. She started taking drawing and painting seriously during high school in the early 1980’s and continued with fine art classes in college and private instruction with several well-known colored pencil artists. As an artist, her specialties are colored pencil and mixed media with emphasis in ink, encaustic and acrylic. She also enjoys crocheting and all kinds of crafts. Kris has been teaching children and adults for over 15 years.

Kris is currently an art instructor, board member, event chairperson and past president with Sawnee Association of the Arts and the Cumming Arts Center, all of which she has truly enjoyed.  Kris has won numerous awards in fine art exhibits and a member of several art organizations, both in Illinois and Georgia, along with multiple private art commissions. Blessed to have a wonderful and supportive husband, two beautiful grown children which she is incredibly proud of, two gorgeous grandchildren and four grand dogs.

PRIVATE LESSON INFORMATION:

For students (Ages 13 thru Adult) interested in private lessons, please fill out the inquiry form below.  Kris will contact you to discuss details and to answer any questions you may have. Typically, a meeting is scheduled where student and/or parents can meet the instructor, talk about goals, level of abilities, etc.  If student and/or parents decide to proceed with lessons the instructor will help with scheduling.   **Do not fill out payment form until instructor contacts you and lessons are officially scheduled.
