Young\nCourse Overview:\nClass Canceled\n\nWildlife\, pets\, and natur es elements..........\n\nClass Canceled Drybrush by definition means "not much water". It is a controlled approach and alternative to traditional wa tercolor. It can be used as a supplement or stand-alone medium. Drybrush i s also paper dependent. By using hard\, compact cold press paper\, the art ist can lift paint to create highlights\, light channels\, and other peak areas.\n\nIt is "painting by subtraction".   Additional subtracting\, an d/or adding paint by layer\, and any reworking can only be performed after previous layer is completely dry. This is to maintain the integrity of th e paper in use.\n\nIn this course\, students will be improving upon their watercolor technique by introducing a new style of dry brush painting. Thi s technique will improve control over the watercolor paint\, allowing for a more photorealistic finished product. Alan R. Young has chosen to focus on painting animals\, as the sharpening of details in depictions of animal s can be easily demonstrated using this method.\n\nMasking fluids are also used periodically to maintain negative areas.\n\nBasic drawing fundamenta ls are also covered on this class.\n\nAll reference photos\, such as pets and animals\, must be in hard copy. No computer screens.\nMaterials List t o bring:\nStudents must supply their own Strathmore cold press 140 lb. Tab let\, as it will be necessary to achieve the photorealistic effect. The cl ass will stop for an hour lunch break\, so bring lunch with you!\n\nStrath more cold press 140 lb. watercolor pad at least 16 x 20.\n\nA basic set of student grade watercolors\, tubes only\,\n\nBasic set of Sable brushes\,\ n\nReference photos of something they want to paint\, animal or pet.\n\nI supply the rest.\n\nAny questions email me: vfs@ellijay.com ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://i0.wp.com/sawneeart.org/wp-content/uploa ds/2020/02/Alan-R.-Young-Bio-Pic.jpg?fit=300%2C200&ssl=1 CATEGORIES:Painting LOCATION:Cumming Arts Center\, 111 Pilgrim Mill Rd\, Cumming\, GA 30040\, C umming\, GA\, 30041\, United States GEO:34.210207;-84.132135 X-APPLE-STRUCTURED-LOCATION;VALUE=URI;X-ADDRESS=111 Pilgrim Mill Rd\, Cummi ng\, GA 30040\, Cumming\, GA\, 30041\, United States;X-APPLE-RADIUS=100;X- TITLE=Cumming Arts Center:geo:34.210207,-84.132135 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
