Encaustic medium is made of natural Beeswax and Damar Resin (crystallized tree sap). The beeswax and resin is melted\, pig ment can be added\, and applied in layers to a porous surface with brushes and other tools. Wax layers are then reheated to fuse it to the previous layer. Encaustic mediums and paints are a versatile\, spontaneous medium. They can be re-melted to create different effects\, layered in opaque or t ranslucent layers\, modeled\, textured\, scraped\, sculpted\, polished\, o r combined with a variety of materials to create collage works. Unlike oth er paints\, encaustic is never wet or dry – it goes from a liquid to a s olid state and back again in seconds\, allowing additional layers to be ad ded immediately. \; Click Here for Kris' Artist Bio. \; \; &nb sp\;  \;  \;\n\nDates Available:\nFriday\, \; February 17th\nC ost: $145.00 - Materials included.\n \;\n\n\n\n[wpforms id="44859" tit le="true" description="true"]\n\n\n\n\n\n CATEGORIES:Painting LOCATION:Cumming Arts Center @ the Brannon-Heard House\, 111 Pilgram Mill R oad\, Cumming\, GA\, 30040\, United States X-APPLE-STRUCTURED-LOCATION;VALUE=URI;X-ADDRESS=111 Pilgram Mill Road\, Cum ming\, GA\, 30040\, United States;X-APPLE-RADIUS=100;X-TITLE=Cumming Arts Center @ the Brannon-Heard House:geo:0,0 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
