I am a lifelong resident of Forsyth County. I graduated from Forsyth County High School in 1976. I’m the mother of 4 and grandmother of 11. I enjoy the outdoors and love to draw and paint. I also enjoy woodworking and other crafts, but oil painting portraits is my favorite. I work with pastels as well, doing a lot of animals in this medium. I started painting in high school and continued after I married. I became interested in Bob Ross’ method of painting quick and easy landscapes and mastered that with cheap acrylic craft paints. In the last two years, I have taken an art course under artist Michael James Smith, a famous artist in the UK and learned his method of painting photo realism in oils. While most of his subjects are of landscape nature, I tend to do more portraitures. I share my love of art with my grandchildren and love to watch them create!! I also work with acrylics on occasion. I have work displayed in Dahlonega, a show in Jasper and have taken part in the yearly art show at Lanier Tech sponsored by The Sawnee Association of the Arts.
