Friday, March 31 – Contemporary Figure Painting

Award winning artist Patricia Fabian will show you how to paint quickly and without thinking it through to express what you see before it is filtered in your mind. Then we are lucky to have Annie Jefferson, professional model, who will be available for two hours so we can practice what we learned.  This is a great opportunity for beginners to advance artists.  Bring a sketchpad for quick poses and another selection of canvas sizes for longer poses. Bring whatever medium you prefer to work in and soft charcoal for quick sketches.

Patricia Fabian

Pat Fabian_ PaintingScenes of simple satisfactions captivate Fabian’s creative mind, because amongst such peaceful moments is when we expose our most human essence. “There is always chaos and quiet in the application of the paint, because life is a patch quilt of both. And in all that’s turbulence of the world, there is that one still captured moment that tells the story of a person’s life.”

Annie Jefferson

Annie is a professional art model in the various artist ateliers and venues in Atlanta. She models at Chastain Art Center, Abernathy Art Center, Atlanta Artists Center, Spruill  Center for the Arts, Quinlan Visual Art Center, Roswell Visual Arts Center, Roswell Fine Arts Alliance and beyond.  She works privately for several Atlanta fine artists and is the subject of  many portrait demos and workshops. Annie has also modeled for three of The Portrait Society of America’s annual conferences. She posed in April for the 2016 Olmsted Plein Air Invitational with several of nation’s finest professional plein air painters.
