About Margaret Walker

Margaret McBride Walker My interest in art began at an early age and did cause turmoil in school when I would doodle instead of listening! I have always tried to follow my own path but there have been some obstacles always on the horizon. However, I really began to study art at the Corcoran Art Gallery while we lived in Washington, DC. When we returned to Petersburg, Va. I took art lessons from Anna M. Dunlop and loved every moment. At one of her small shows I won a blue ribbon for my painting of ‘Blue Bowl and Apple’. Eventually I went to the University of Georgia and majored in Art. While living in Kingston, Jamaica I began painting again. Since that time I have ventured into writing and am now eager to return to the art form I enjoy very much…ART. I write for a Jamaican website, and have had articles with the on-line e-zine for Up In Cumming Magazine a few years ago.. Currently I am trying to clean out/re-arrange my garage so I can get down to ‘business’ once again. Life is so full of beauty and we need to take the time to see it! © Margaret McBride Walker
